Barb, Bill, Ray, Dawn and the entire team, our driver David included, just kept on giving us their undivided attention! We got another estimate which came in at the same weight, and Atlas/American was much less expensive. Prior to our move, there was no question unanswered, or detail too small. The family business underscores the concept of a RELATIONSHIP in customer service. We are impressed, and we hope you will contract with them for your next van line experience. ~ Seven D

We recently had American of Virginia move a very large house full of furniture. I cannot say enough good things about this company. They were excellent and very professional. This company made every single step in the process go smoothly. I was amazed at the level of professionalism at every level, something you don't see much of these days. No one offers the service, thoughtfulness, attention, follow-through, value for my money, professionalism or empathy for the customer that this firm does. No one. Excellent service at a great price. The movers were very professional, timely and efficient. They moved our house from southern Virginia to northern Virginia. We sold our house in Waynesboro, VA and built another one in Roanoke, VA. We also have a home in Florida. So while in Florida as we planned this move, I called Barbara, shared our situation and together we set up a plan. The Waynesboro house sold in July, and thinking the new house would be completed in September, arranged for American of VA to assist us packing then load our stuff and store it until our move in September. Our stuff was reviewed and we were given an estimate of costs for moving and storing our goods.. On the prescribed date, they came out and assisted in packing, and moved everything to a truck. The day was exhausting but the movers were professional, careful, patient and considerate of us and our stuff. Unfortunately, our new house took longer to complete, so from Florida where we lived in the transition period, we would talk monthly with Barbara regarding our progress. She was patient with our delays and professional in arranging our paying for continued storage in spite of our earlier arranged plan. Eventually, in March, our new house was ready... on move in day, they arrived as expected and quickly, efficiently and professionally moved our stuff into our new house in hours. Everything arrived in the shape we'd packed it, we found nothing was damaged. We reviewed the paperwork, I wrote the check and couldn't have been happier with the experience! Everyone I encountered from American of Virginia showed an outstanding work ethic and was polite, articulate, patient and accommodating to us.
